Elastic cotton thread, 1 roll
Lighter, 1
Step-by-Step Tutorial
Follow these detailed instructions to craft your exquisite multi-layered rose bow:
1.Prepare the Clip Base: Cut a length of the 0.3-inch wide black ribbon that is about 1/3 longer than the top of your alligator clip. Apply hot glue to the top of the alligator clip and the tail section of the clip. Carefully adhere this narrow black ribbon along the top and tail of the clip to cover it.
2.Craft the Fabric Rose: Take the 1-inch wide deep red fabric ribbon.
Fold one end downwards to the left, so the top edge aligns with the left edge. Apply hot glue to both aligned edges and secure them.
Bend the pointed tip downwards, so its two end points meet. Apply hot glue to both edges and secure them.
Flip the top-left corner downwards to the bottom-right, so the top-left vertex aligns with the ribbon's edge. Apply hot glue to both edges and secure them. This completes an overlapping arrow shape.
Flip the bottom part of the ribbon (below the arrow) upwards and to the back.
Fold the ribbon to the left, then turn it to the right, wrapping around the previously formed arrow shape. Apply hot glue to both sides of the ribbon and secure.
Repeat the folding to the left and wrapping one more full turn around the arrow, applying hot glue to both sides to secure. Continue this process of folding and wrapping, applying glue to secure each layer, until you reach the other end of the ribbon. Trim any excess ribbon. Your fabric rose is now complete. This process is quite complex, and it may be difficult to understand from a text explanation alone. Please watch the production video for a better understanding of the method.
3.Create the Double-Layer Organza Bow: Take the two 8-inch long black sheer organza ribbons. Apply double-sided tape to both ends of each ribbon, then remove the backing and adhere each end to its respective ribbon's centerline.
Cross the two organza ribbons over each other at a 30-degree angle.
At the overlapping point of the two organza ribbons, pinch two pleats along the direction parallel to the ribbon.
Use elastic cotton thread to firmly bind the middle section of the two ribbons where they overlap, wrapping about 15 times. Tie it securely and snip off the excess thread. This forms your double-layer organza bow.
4.Create the Single-Layer Organza Bow: Take the remaining 7.5-inch long organza ribbon. Use the same method as described in Step 4 (double-sided tape, folding ends to center, pinching two pleats, tying with elastic thread) to create a single-layer organza bow.
5.Assemble Organza Layers: Place the single-layer organza bow on top of the double-layer organza bow. Use elastic cotton thread to bind the middle sections of both bows together, wrapping about 15 times. Tie it securely and snip off the excess thread.
6.Form the Small Black Ribbon Bow: Take the 0.3-inch wide black ribbon. Form two '8' shapes using the method from Passion Collection #3 (folding, pinching pleats – two pleats for each '8' shape). Use elastic cotton thread to bind the middle, wrapping about 15 times. Tie securely and snip the thread. Cut both ends of these small ribbon pieces diagonally, and use a lighter to singe the raw edges to prevent fraying. This creates a small black ribbon bow.
7.Attach Small Black Bow to Organza Bow: Apply hot glue to the top of the combined organza bows, specifically on the cotton-wrapped section. Carefully adhere the bottom of the small black ribbon bow (made in Step 7) onto this glued area, securing it in place.
8.Attach Organza Bow to Alligator Clip: Apply hot glue to the bottom of the combined organza bows. Adhere this entire assembly to the middle section of the prepared alligator clip (from Step 2), ensuring it largely covers the clip.
9.Secure Bow to Clip: Take the remaining 0.3-inch wide black ribbon. Cut a suitable length. Apply hot glue to the middle portion of this ribbon. Wrap it around the top of the organza bow, covering the central bound area, and bring both ends to the back. Apply hot glue to both ends of this narrow ribbon and firmly adhere them to the top backside of the alligator clip, further securing the entire bow assembly.
10.Final Assembly - Attach Rose: Finally, apply hot glue generously to the bottom of your deep red fabric rose (made in Step 3). Carefully place and adhere it to the very top center of your multi-layered organza bow, pressing firmly until secure.
Your exquisite, grand, and beautiful multi-layered ribbon bow with a vibrant red fabric rose is now complete! Composed of four intricate ribbon layers and crowned with the fiery rose, this accessory perfectly showcases an intense and passionate ambiance. The theme of "Passion" is truly embodied here.
