Materials You'll Need:

Black Ribbon with White Horizontal Stripes: 1 piece, 1 inch wide, 4 inches long.

Grey Imitation Felt Plaid Ribbon: 1 piece, 1 inch wide, 4 inches long.

Light Grey Ribbon: 1 piece, 0.3 inches wide, 7 inches long.

Light Grey Ribbon: 1 piece, 0.3 inches wide, 1.5 inches long (same material as the 7-inch piece).

Scissors: 1 pair.

Hot Glue Gun & Glue Sticks (pre-heated).

Elastic Cotton Thread: 1 roll.

Imitation Pearl Plastic Bead: 1 piece.

Black Barrette (French barrette style): 1 piece.

Ribbon Tag with "Handmade" lettering: 1 piece.

Step-by-Step Tutorial:

Part 1: Crafting the Main Layered Bow

Take both the black striped ribbon and the grey plaid ribbon. Fold each ribbon in half lengthwise to find its center line. Apply double-sided tape along this center line. Then, fold both ends of each ribbon towards the center line and adhere them to the tape, securing the loops.

Stack the two folded ribbons, placing the black striped ribbon on top and the grey plaid ribbon underneath. Pinch the stacked ribbons horizontally at their center to create three neat folds.

While holding the folds firmly with one hand, use elastic cotton thread to tightly bind the middle section of the two ribbons (wrap approximately 15 times). Secure with a knot and trim the excess thread. This completes your elegant layered bow.

Part 2: Creating the Accent Bow

Take the longer light grey ribbon (0.3 inches wide, 7 inches long). Fold both ends of the ribbon inwards, so they cross diagonally at approximately 1/4 of their length from the ends, forming an angle of about 150 degrees. Ensure the central overlapping part of the ribbon is flat.

Use elastic cotton thread to tightly bind the center of this light grey ribbon knot (wrap approximately 15 times). Secure with a knot and trim the excess thread. This creates a smaller accent bow.

Part 3: Assembling the Bows & Attaching to Barrette

Apply hot glue to the elastic-wrapped center of the black striped ribbon bow (from Part 1). Carefully align and attach the light grey accent bow (from Part 2) on top of it.

Take the shorter light grey ribbon (0.3 inches wide, 1.5 inches long). Wrap it snugly around the combined center of the two bows, covering the elastic threads. Apply hot glue to both ends of this short ribbon and secure them to the bottom of the bow assembly.

Apply hot glue to the top edge of the main bow's wrapped center. Align the bow vertically with the metal barrette, so the bow's bottom edge adheres to the top flat surface of the barrette, forming a 90-degree angle. Press firmly to secure.

Part 4: Final Touches & Embellishments

Apply hot glue to the back of the "Handmade" ribbon tag. Open the barrette clip, and secure the "Handmade" tag to the back of the upper part of the barrette, beneath the bow, for both aesthetic appeal and added reinforcement.

Apply hot glue to the bottom surface of the imitation pearl plastic bead. Attach the bead to the very bottom end of the barrette's upper bar, ensuring it's securely fastened and adds a refined touch.
